SUMMARY: Achievers College Experience (ACE) summer programs are 1-week college and career readiness experiences for rising 12th grade College Success Foundation (CSF) Achievers. Five ACE summer programs will take place across CSF Tacoma schools in 2019. Summer program activities include college application workshops, college tours at various campuses in WA, SAT/ACT test prep, team building and networking with other Achievers and more. The goal of ACE summer programs is for students to be more equipped to develop, initiate and deliver on their post-secondary education plans during their senior year.

PROGRAM DATES:

  • ACE Summer Programs - CSF Tacoma
  • ACE Auburn July 10th - 12, 2019 leaving Tacoma early on July 10th returning by 5pm on the 12th.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer daily medications for students who are under 18 years of age.
  • Respond to any health related issues or emergencies that arise during the event.
  • Appropriately track and document medication management and any health related incidents.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Passion for working with marginalized youth.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with students, counselors, volunteers, and College Success Foundation staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, flexibility, empathy, professionalism, and good judgement even in stressful situations.
  • Respect for human diversity in all its forms, and commitment to facilitating a safe and inclusive environment for all students, volunteers, and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

  • Must hold an RN's, LPN or equivalent and be licensed to practice in the state of Washington.
  • Experience working with youth in schools or camps a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work environment is moderately noisy. There is exposure to dust and changes in weather conditions.
  • Employee must be able to handle stress that is involved in meeting strenuous customer deadlines, working in
  • high volume areas, and be flexible and able to interact with employees at all levels.
